Whitechapel The Musical

The workshop showcase of "Whitechapel The Musical" was performed on 3rd April 2007 at The Pleasance Theatre, Islington.

Following the success of this preview performance the full production will debut in the West End on December 1st 2007, at The Venue, Leicester Square.

Synopsis:
Set in Victorian East London, Whitechapel tells the story of loves and lovers and mis-matched partners.

With a host of divinely decadent characters, it plots the story of a passionate love affair between the impoverished yet beautiful Annie, and Eddie, a man with very royal connections.

Their dreams for the future are shattered by the prejudice, sacrifice and pain they endure as the dark wheels of the Victorian Establishment are turning and will stop at nothing short of crushing them. From the streets of London’s East End to the shores of Southern France, Whitechapel takes us on a musical journey within a score of haunting melodic ballads, music-hall song and big chorus numbers. Original orchestrations and a thrilling score make this one of the most exciting musical projects to emerge in recent years.
